Taylor Square crossing

Sydney Rides FestivalIn Progress

STATUS: August consultation for local businesses and residents. Referral to October traffic committee for approval. 3 month upgrade and rainbow installation to start in November.

The Bourke and Campbell Street intersection at Taylor Square is busy with people walking, and riding bikes from and to the Bourke Street cycleway. It’s also used as a loading area for deliveries to nearby businesses.

The City and Roads and Maritime Services are working together to install a rainbow crossing and a local street upgrade to improve safety for people walking and riding.

The new crossing would include a trial to prioritise pedestrian and cycle movements ahead of vehicular movements.
